TMT Heater For Epoxy Coating
Thermo-mechanically treated steel known as TMT steel or Rebars is a new-generation, high-strength steel having superior properties such as weldability, strength, ductility, and bendability which is used extensively for construction all over the world. All over the years, TMT bars manufactured in Rolling mills went straight to construction sites.
Plain TMT Bars often get rusted over time. As rust forms on the outside of the concrete-embedded rebar, it exerts an increasing amount of pressure on the surrounding concrete. This can cause the concrete slab to spontaneously crack, while also making the concrete more vulnerable to damage caused by blows and compressive forces. New-generation technology adaptation has changed the concept of civil construction. Induction heated Epoxy coated bars are now available. Epoxy-coated rebar prevents corrosion and the problems that it causes and offers a multitude of advantages.
- The coating layer is corrosion-resistant
- Lower maintenance cost
- Lower lifecycle costs over time
- High mechanical impact strength
Epoxy-coated rebar is not only durable but also resistant to many corrosive substances. It offers corrosion resistance, especially for marine structures.
Megatherm has installed induction heaters to preheat the clean TMT bars to a uniform temperature when a set of parallel TMT bars are run through conveyors and then through a tunnel induction coil. Dry epoxy powder at normal temperature is sprayed electrostatically on the uniformly heated TMT bars, which forms the protective film.
The installation KW rating will depend on the production rate (Tons/hour). The complete induction heater, coils, temperature monitoring system & cooling system will be supplied by Megatherm.
Megatherm provides complete assistance in the selection of feed rate, no of bars, size of bars, and the temperature criteria before heated rods go into the epoxy chamber.
